The Creative Eye Workshops explore the process of looking, seeing, perceiving and the use of imagination in conceiving and constructing a photographic image. They are about developing photographers' creative potential by cultivating awareness: awareness of the environment, awareness of the craft, awareness of the process and awareness of self as a means of developing creative expression.

Creativity

Creativity has a very broad perspective - it is a way of life - it pervades every human activity. Creativity is a mental and social process involving the generation of new ideas or concepts, or new associations between existing ideas and concepts. Creativity is fuelled by the process of conscious and unconscious insight.

One participant in a previous Creative Eye Workshop defined creativity as:

"Creativity is for me, something very intimate. It is the ability of having a personal vision of the world we evolve in, and then reconstruct the world in our own way. It is about perceptions and yet about our senses, because it is through them that we are in touch with what surrounds us. Creativity is Life. It is a manner of finding how to put things together so that together they will be coherent. Creativity allows us to use our minds, hearts and souls, so that all our resources co-operate together to build something that brings a new meaning, at least for us."
